Sourdough starter
Happy and healthy 100+ yo sourdough starter. We love making sourdough with this and it has seriously helped me curb my sugar cravings.
We typically feed a 1:1:1 ratio once a day (50gm sourdough starter, 50gm warm water, 50gm all-purpose flour)
To make delicious bread, my recipe with this starter is:
Feed your sourdough starter in the morning and by mid afternoon:
Combine 100gm sourdough starter with 325gm warm water, 10gm salt and 550gm all-purpose flour.
Stir until well combined and cover with a damp towel.
Every 30 minutes. Remove the towel, take the dough out and stretch and fold it four to five times. Then cover and repeat four times.
Then on the last stretch, line your bowl with parchment paper before putting your bread dough back in and cover with plastic wrap or a silicone bowl cover and refrigerate overnight.
The next morning take your dough out of the refrigerator and Preheat your oven with Dutch oven inside to 450°F.
Once it's preheated, place the dough on the parchment paper in the Dutch oven and bake with the lid on for 30 minutes. Then remove the lid and bake for an additional 10 to 15 minutes.
